Dr. Share and our team are happy to answer your questions about our practice and services. The following are questions we regularly encounter. Please feel free to contact us if you have any other concerns. Simply give us a call (617-742-1350) or send us an email. We would love to hear from you!
Are you accepting new patients and referrals?
New patients are always welcome in our Boston office, conveniently located in the Boston Financial District, Downtown Crossing, Government Center, Beacon Hill, Back Bay and surrounding towns.
Our two new patient forms can be downloaded and completed prior to your first visit. In addition our Transfer of Dental Records form can be used to request your records from your previous dentist. Forwarding recent records and X-rays to our office will insure that your first visit is more informative and productive.
We are pleased to accept referrals of your co-workers, friends, and family members. Your referrals are our best compliments!
What makes you different than other dental practices?
That’s easy. For one thing, our treatment of patients! We listen to and communicate with our patients. We have fun. We help them relax and answer all of their questions. We get to know every patient and treat each one as we would a friend in our own homes. This nurtures a high level of trust and security. Our experienced team will lead you through your visit and follow-up to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.
Do you only see patients from the Boston Financial District?
While our convenient location attracts many people who work in Boston’s Financial District, our services are available to individuals of all ages, from children to senior adults. We welcome anyone who is interested in receiving excellent dental care in a friendly atmosphere. If you are looking for a dentist for your whole family, ask about our convenient Saturday hours.
What if I have a dental emergency when the office is closed?
We are extremely sensitive to the needs of patients that require immediate care. Dr. Share is committed to his patients both during and after office hours. If you are in need of emergency dental care after office hours, please feel free to call Dr. Share on his cell phone (617/548-0022). The doctor will give you helpful information over the phone and determine if you need to be seen immediately. Please note that any messages left on our office answering service after hours will not be attended to until the next business day.
What precautions do you take to ensure patient safety?
These days, many patients voice their concerns over the safety of the health care environment pertaining to their protection. We understand and welcome your concerns. We want you to be comfortable knowing that we are taking all the steps necessary to make your dental visit a safe one.
Dr. Share and our team adhere to the “universal infection control precautions” recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This includes using disposable items whenever possible, especially needles and gloves. We employ barriers to prevent passing germs by covering all frequently touched surfaces like headrests and light handles. We heat sterilize all instruments after each patient use and routinely test our sterilizer to insure that your level of safety is closely monitored.
What payment options do you offer your patients?
We accept Visa and MasterCard, as well as personal checks and cash.
Do you accept my insurance plan?
Our office accepts most insurance plans that allow the patient to select their own dentist. We are also providers for Delta Dental Premier and Blue Cross Blue Shield (Dental Blue) of Massachusetts. If we are outside of your provider network, you can still become a patient, although your co-payment could be somewhat higher. We do not participate with any managed care carriers, HMOs, PPOs or Medicaid. If there are any uncertainties about your coverage, please give our office a call for clarification. We will eliminate all the confusion!
What is your office policy regarding insurance claims and patient payments?
We will submit all your insurance claims for processing as a courtesy. We can make no guarantee of estimated coverage, but will do our very best to see that you receive your maximum benefits. Should your benefits result in less coverage than anticipated, or if you exceed your maximum yearly benefit amount, you will be responsible for your total obligation.
It is also your responsibility to pay at the time of service any deductible amount, co-payment, or any other balance not paid or covered by your insurance. If payment in full cannot be made at the time of service, payment arrangements must be made with the receptionist. If you are unsure of your coverage, we can submit a pre-treatment estimate for an anticipated procedure to determine your out-of-pocket expenses.
What is your office policy for patients that are without dental insurance?
Patients without dental insurance are requested to pay in full at the time of service. If payment in full cannot be made at the time of service, payment arrangements must be made with the receptionist in advance of treatment.
Do you treat children? At what age should my child first see a dentist?
We love seeing kids and suggest that scheduled dental visits should begin during their third year. We want your child to have a positive, non-threatening dental office experience. A great way to start is to have your child accompany you during your cleaning appointment. She’ll undoubtedly be curious throughout your procedure. When we’re finished, she can jump in the chair, go for a ride and we can count her teeth. Saturday is a popular day for families.
P.S. We have a treasure chest filled with lots of toys and prizes!
Dr. Share, I want a great smile but don’t know where to start. What would you recommend?
Let’s explore some cosmetic options. Teeth whitening is often the most cost effective and dramatic way to create a great smile, preceded by a thorough cleaning. Often replacing discolored and unsightly restorations is all that’s needed. Slightly crooked or unevenly worn teeth can easily be improved by reshaping them, removing sharply worn edges and corners. Invisalign, the clear and removable orthodontic alternative, can effectively straighten crooked and crowded teeth, and is great for adults, especially those that didn’t wear their retainers. With the addition of bonding and porcelain veneers, we can completely transform your appearance. Often we combine these cosmetic treatments to create a dazzling smile.
Dr. Share would be happy to discuss with you the options that best suit your individual situation, and he'll answer all of your questions. Simply request a cosmetic consultation with our receptionist.
