Caps, Crowns, and Bridges
An Old Standard Meets the 21st Century
Cracked, broken, and decayed teeth with large fillings can detract from even the prettiest smile. Crowns, also referred to as caps, can be used to restore the natural strength and beauty of your teeth by covering all their surfaces with beautiful, tooth-colored porcelain. Crowns can also anchor bridges to fill in the gaps in your smile.
Dr. Share uses all-porcelain crowns that will not show metal when you smile. This provides our patients with an incredibly natural restoration and eliminates the dark metal line that you have seen at the gum line on some crowns. For back teeth that are used in chewing, we also use crowns with a thin layer of gold for strength, beneath the porcelain where it can’t be seen.
Before every crown is permanently cemented, both the patient and the doctor must submit their final approval for appearance, color match, and shape.
